Dear Sanchez Families and Community Members,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I am honored to be your principal and am looking forward to working with you and your children to make Sanchez the school all our students deserve. 

As we embark on another exciting school year, we are thrilled to share with you some significant initiatives that will enhance our educational offerings and strengthen our school community. 

We are proud to announce the addition of various special education preschool classes as well as some collaborative special education/general education classes. These additions are designed to provide inclusive learning environments and tailored support for our youngest learners, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive. 

In our commitment to academic excellence, we have adopted a new math curriculum districtwide that emphasizes critical thinking and problem solving skills. The curriculum will engage and empower students to become confident mathematicians. 

We are focusing, districtwide and at Sanchez, on working collaboratively as professions through the establishment of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). These communities fosters a culture of continuous improvement among our educators, enhancing instructional practices and student outcomes. 

In our efforts to prepare students for college and career readiness, we are excited to implement the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program schoolwide. We former did the program in grades third through fifth only. This will provide our with the skills and strategies necessary for success in their academic journeys. 

We are committed to creating a positive and supportive school environment. Our efforts to strengthen our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) practices will ensure that all students feel safe, respected, and engaged in their learning. 

We are thrilled to announce our transition to a community school model, supported by a generous $250,000 a year grant for the next five years. This transformation will allow us to provide additional resources and services that meet the diverse needs of our students and initiatives. 

We look forward to an incredible 2024-2025 school year filled with growth, learning, and community spirit. Together, we can create a nurturing environment that empowers our students to reach their fullest potential.
